Authorization to Operate in California
Andrew University is authorized to operate in the State of California as a religious-exempt institution under the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009, pursuant to California Education Code § 94874(e). Under this statutory provision, institutions that are owned, controlled, operated, and maintained by a nonprofit religious corporation, and that offer only instruction in the principles of that religious organization, may operate in California without BPPE “approval to operate,” provided they meet all requirements of the exemption.

We currently offer the following certificates and programs:
Certificate in Biblical Studies
Master of Arts in Christian Studies (M.A.)
Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)
Andrew University has never filed a bankruptcy petition, operated as a debtor in possession or had a petition of bankruptcy filed against it under federal law (CEC 94909(a)(12)).
Andrew University does not participate in federal or state financial aid programs (CEC 94909(a)(10)).
Andrew University is not accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE), and this Institution’s students are therefore not eligible for federal financial aid programs. A degree program that is unaccredited or a degree from an unaccredited institution is not recognized for some employment positions, including, but not limited to, positions with the State of California. Andrew University programs are not designed to, and therefore do not prepare students for, licensure in any field of endeavor (CEC 94909(a)(16) and CEC 94897(p)).
Transferability and Recognition of Credits and Degrees
Credits earned at Andrew University are generally not transferable to other colleges, universities, seminaries, or graduate programs.
Acceptance of credits is always the exclusive decision of the receiving institution.
Many accredited institutions do not accept credits or degrees from religious-exempt schools.
Degrees from Andrew University may not satisfy requirements for state licensure, secular employment, professional certification, or government-recognized credentials.
Students should assume that:
Credits will not transfer, and
Degrees may not be recognized by secular academic or regulatory bodies.
